Hi, I’m Stuart. I’m running for County Commission because I’m a problem solver. I want to solve real, local problems for all of us - instead of focusing on the outrage issue of the day. I’m a new father and husband who wants everyone in our district to have the voice they deserve in our county government. On the campaign trail, I’ve learned quickly that being a candidate is way more about listening than speaking. I’ve enjoyed listening to District 3 residents about issues facing them. I will continue to listen when on County Commission. It’s the core requirement for the job.
I moved to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee where I also met my wife. After graduating we decided Knox County is a wonderful place to stay and start a family, and in 2016 we bought our first house in District 3. I am a proud Knox County resident, a huge Vols fan, and a wannabe chef.
I’m a new father, proud husband, and a manager at one of our local production companies. I’ve worked for the same company for 10 years, which is a rarity in the television industry. So many people have helped me in my career and I look to pay that forward to the 60+ people I manage. I’m always looking for more effective ways to finish a project and solving the latest issues at work, I enjoy being a problem solver. I believe I can bring this same mindset to County Commission.
My wife is also a UT grad, an incredible mother, and a Knox County Schools elementary music teacher since 2014. Her passion for teaching despite a lack of needed resources has inspired me to run and to be an advocate for teachers.
We’re proud to call District 3 our home and I am excited to continue standing up for our teachers, protect and expand public school funding, and ensure District 3 has effective local leadership.
I’ve always felt that working with others despite our differences is the way forward, and I promise to put in the work for the families of this district as we navigate the growth Knox County is experiencing. I want Knox County to be a place that supports public education, allows young families to thrive, and puts communities first.
Stay involved by getting updates on our work towards effective leadership in County Commission District 3
